PRESIDENT’S REPORT, NBMA-AMNB AGM, Tracadie-Sheila, April 30 - May1st, 2010
21 May 2010 |
I wish to report to all the members of NBMA-AMNB that the AGM meeting in Tracadie-Sheila was an absolute success. There were over fifty members attending, with many having travelled far from Grand-Falls, Fredericton, Moncton & Halifax.
The Planning Team, led by Team leader Diane Albert, organized a most pleasant, friendly and enjoyable Friday evening Wine & Cheese festivity. The highlight of the evening was the lively troupe of dancers from Petit-Rocher named, “The Clackers”. They are a twelve-member group of tap dancers who danced to lively tunes for one exciting hour. They were marvellous. One of our members, Jeanine Paulin from Gauvreau near Tracadie, brought her tap shoes and danced with the group. It was an exciting time. The hostesses wore a specially designed Acadian T-shirt announcing our AGM 2010. Many donated prizes were drawn during the festivities to include an overnight stay at Gite Toutes Saisons in Green Point, beautiful carvings by our own member, Rose-Marie Camberlain, a Spa certificate and many more exciting prizes. |

Annual Awareness Week
05 Mar 2008 |
October 21 – October 27, 2007 Cancer Care
With an estimated 159,900 new cases of cancer occurring in Canada in 2007, Cancer Care is becoming an important topic in massage therapy. Massage therapy can offer cancer patients an alternative and complementary therapy that helps with pain management, muscular tension, nausea, fatigue and can help reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being. Massage therapy is a safe type of therapy to receive with cancer, however important considerations need to be undertaken when giving or receiving treatment. The focus of National Massage Therapy Week in 2007 on Cancer Care is focusing on educating the public on the benefits and the considerations when using massage therapy for people living with cancer.
