CHARLOTTETOWN MASSAGE THERAPY - New RMT wanted.
We are a group of Massage Therapists working together in PEI’s first clinic, established in 1990 in Charlottetown, PEI. We have both full and part time therapists with many years of collective experience, strong community ties and a well established client base.
WHERE: Downtown Charlottetown, PEI, The Charlottetown Area Health Centre, 1 Rochford St. – a quiet neighbourhood, steps away from the waterfront boardwalk, across from a park square, close to restaurants, cafés, etc. A great location!
WHEN: September 1st, 2010 for full time; part time is possible now.
DETAILS: The clinic has 4 treatment rooms, all with hardwood floors, sinks, opening windows and A/C. The clinic also includes a waiting room, laundry facilities, a central office, an infra red sauna room and shower. It is on the 2nd floor of the Health Centre, with an elevator for accessibility. All therapists are self employed and pay a monthly rent that includes all the infrastructure you need such as telephone (2 lines), fax, wireless internet, POS (point of sale) terminal, advertising, office management, (there is no receptionist), linens, supplies and best of all, referrals and a collegial group to work with. You bring your table, lotion, a positive attitude and professional skills.
COST: Is determined by usage. Full time space is $600/month + gst. [For example, part time, 3 days per week of usage = $375/month + gst]

Course Description This two day practical “hands-on” orthopaedic review seminar is designed to provide the Registered Massage Therapist with systematic problem solving skills that will enhance the practitioner’s level of skill and confidence with respect to performing a cervical spine examination. Emphasis is placed on examination of the cervical “whiplash” client and covers relevant anatomy, biomechanics, orthopaedic assessment (including neurological and palpation), and medico-legal reporting.
This orthopaedic review is client-centered and is not designed to be nor intended to be a comprehensive presentation of the whiplash phenomenon.
Participants will receive a manual with an outline of the seminar, vertebrobasilar circulation questionnaire, MVA personal injury questionnaire, cervical spine disability questionnaire, a "do's and don'ts" guide to medico-legal reporting, and a sample template upon which to base future medico-legal reports.
Limited to 20 persons maximum.

Scope and General Purpose of Position: • Perform professional massage therapy and body treatments and remain current with the industry. • Provide uncompromising attention to guest/member service.
Responsibilities: • Perform massage while maintaining the clients comfort at all times. • Perform all 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minute massage and body treatments, as certified/trained to do so. • Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to needs and expectation. • Maintain clean and neat work environment at all times, ensuring all equipment in safe working order. • Maintain current professional licenses, CPR, First Aid. • Adhere to Body Tech. safety procedures and practices and departmental Emergency Procedures/Safety Manual. • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures. • Attend departmental communication meetings as scheduled. • Active participation in learning spa's operations, i.e. body treatments, product knowledge, retail sales, Energy Masters Program. • Support other teams within department as required, i.e. Spa Attendants, Spa Reception. Qualifications: • Graduate from an accredited school of massage with a massage license. Preferred 2200 hour course. • Registered within province of Alberta prior to beginning employment. • Safety Oriented First Aid. • CPR - Basic Rescuer. • Minimum 1 year experience in spa industry.
